TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4: Instruction: Instrument To Greatness (8)
One Year Bible Reading:
1 Chronicles 5 - 6
John 15: 18 - 16: 1 - 16
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Tim. 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
BIBLE READING:
2 kings 4:3-4
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
Thinking Point:
Instruction is the bedrock of any breakthrough in life.
Today being the last Sunday of the month of May, every uncompleted project around our lives will be completed today in the name of Jesus, reproach is rolled back for honour to step in, In Jesus name, Amen
Walking with God entails following instructions. Everything about God is about doing what He says the way He says it. God instructed Moses and the Israelites to move on in the face of the Red Sea in Exodus 14:15-16, didn’t it look foolish? But the Red Sea became an express road for the children of Israel. Prophet Elisha instructed Naaman to take his bath in a dirty river to be cleansed of leprosy in 2 Kings 5, was that not an invitation to greater sickness? But that was the way to cure leprosy. In John 2:7-9, Jesus instructed the Disciples to fill the waterpots with water and draw some to give to the master of ceremony and it turned to wine. The disciples would have disobeyed the instruction and Jesus' miracle would have been truncated, wine wouldn't have been possible.
Likewise, When the widow came to the Elisha to complain about the debt her husband landed her before his death, all Prophet Elisha could say was, “Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.” human knowledge would have said, Why will I borrow again when I am already indebted and am looking for a way out? To borrow vessels, not even a few? What an instruction?
Many have lost their blessings as a result of using head knowledge to weigh God’s instructions. But this widow never doubted the instruction; she followed in detail. She borrowed many vessels, shut the door behind herself, and kept filling the vessels until they were all filled up. What instruction were you given that you rejected? Is it about the spouse to get married to? That journey you are embarking on? The business you want to invest in? Instructions are vital tools to success in any endeavor. Instructions from God, God's servant, parents, mentor, spouse, master, even your colleagues and professionals can be the open door you need in life. Sometimes, experience has nothing to do with given instructions.
Father I need the right instruction from you Oh Lord, speak to me in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
