TOPIC: Increasing Faith (2) (13)
One Year Bible Reading:
2 Chronicles 26 - 28
Acts 6.
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
BIBLE READING:
Luke 17:5-6
“And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.”
Thinking Point:
Faith increases when we live in the consciousness of God with others.
Today, the strength of the Lord shall rest upon us to do God’s will concerning our lives. There shall be no weariness nor tiredness, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
In our study yesterday, we saw how our faith can be increased through continuous declaration of our faith, without doubting, and by prayer and fasting. Today, as we proceed on this same topic, our faith can be increased by knowing and walking in the will of God for our lives. One of the things that kills faith is speaking against the direction of God concerning us. When we apply faith to what God has not ordained for our lives, it will end in frustration. Ephesians 5:17 puts it this way:
“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
We become unwise when we apply faith against the will of God concerning us. What God has not ordained for your life, faith cannot produce. Can you imagine a virgin having faith that she will be pregnant without a man just because it happened to Mary? That won’t happen. When we don’t understand the will of God for our lives, we misdirect our faith. And when you are disappointed, your faith dies continuously.
Ephesians 5:18
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.”
Without the help of the Spirit, faith cannot be increased. Living in the Spirit propels our faith towards God. Faith entails spirituality. When you know the will of God concerning your life, the Spirit propels you to start working towards it. You may want to ask, “How?” Apostle Paul continues by saying:
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” Ephesians 5:19.
By singing spiritual songs, praise God both within and without. When our heart is free of bitterness, anger, malice, and unforgiveness, and is filled with praises to God, worship of the Almighty, and rejoicing in the Holy Spirit, it increases our faith towards possibilities. A heart that praises is a heart that identifies what faith can produce. David was a man of praise, and his faith increased daily during his lifetime. To increase our faith, we need to consciously live in the Spirit through our worship. Apostle Paul rounded it up by saying:
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” Ephesians 5:20.
Giving thanks always. Thanking God for all things simply means finding reasons to thank God regardless of the situation we are in. It is an instrument to increase our faith. Fill your heart with songs of praise and worship Him in all situations, and your faith will increase rapidly.
I declare this morning: our faith will increase from today on. We will be propelled to apply faith in the right way, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
