TOPIC: HOW TO START: Start With Who You Know (3)

One Year Bible Reading:
Nehemiah 11 - 13
Acts 14 : 1 - 28

MEMORY VERSE:
Colossians 3:23-2. (KJV)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 22:1. (NLT)
“So David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there.”

Thinking Point:
Every work starts with those who believe and trust in you.

“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” Exodus 33:14 KJV. May God’s presence go with us this week to usher us into His ordained purpose for our lives, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

How to Start God’s plan for our lives has been our study. We’ve seen: Start Where You Are, Start With What You Have, and Start With What You Know.

Today, the next step is: “Start With Who You Know.” In other words, start with those who trust you, and who you can trust in return.

It’s impossible that no one knows what you carry or believes in your instinct. There are people who see what you can do and want to stand with you. Avoid those who are jealous of you, like Joseph’s brothers. Genesis 37.

Any dream that starts with the wrong people is dead at birth. When God saw the dream-killers around Joseph, He moved him out of that location. Dream-killers may be spouses, family, or even a spiritual father. You must know who you cannot trust with your dream.

David trusted his family after escaping Saul. He also trusted Jonathan, the son of his arch-enemy. Who is that person you can trust with your dream? Who will say, “I’m with you”? Share your plans with them.

When God created man, He included trusted company:
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion…” Genesis 1:26 KJV.

You need people who will believe in your small dream so it can grow gradually. Before outsiders accept your vision, you need an insider to run it with you.

Mary, Jesus’ mother, was His first supporter. At Cana, “when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.” John 2:3 KJV. Paraphrased: “Your expertise is needed. Their wine has finished.” She knew what He could do and believed in Him.

Who believes in you? If no one does, you may have to prove them wrong, like Jephthah. It was outsiders who found him because they shared his dream. Judges 11:1-3.

Where do you belong? Do people believe in your dream, or does no one? Identify it and take a bold step. Start with those who believe in you and your dream.

God bless you and Good Morning.
