TOPIC: HOW TO START: Start With Little (4)
One Year Bible Reading:
Esther 1 - 4
Acts 15 : 1 - 21
MEMORY VERSE:
Colossians 3:23-2. (KJV)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
BIBLE READING:
Zechariah 4:10
“For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.”
Thinking Point:
Everything that is small has the potential to become big when it is well managed.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV. May God’s grace be sufficient for us today, and carry us above every hurdle, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
How To Start remains our study. We have seen: Start Where You Are, Start With What You Have, Start With What You Know, and Start With Who You Know.
Today, we learn: Start Small. Success in any area of life comes by taking one step at a time, without rushing.
A children does not run on the day they are born. There is a time to sit, crawl, stand, and walk. It’s a process. So it is with every great thing in life. You start small not because you lack resources, but to learn the process. If you cannot manage a little beginning, no one will commit an empire to your hands.
Jesus modeled this. He began at home, and even as a boy He was found “in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.” Luke 2:46 KJV. “And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.” Luke 2:47 KJV. He didn’t lack wisdom, but He followed the process of growth.
Starting small minimizes loss, maximizes learning, and makes correction easy. If you are called into ministry, you don’t need a big auditorium, a car, or full instruments first. Start with a small place and a few people. If not, pressure will force you to start small after wasting resources.
Jesus’ ministry grew step by step: from Him, to twelve disciples, to seventy, to one hundred and twenty, then to three thousand. Acts 1:15, Acts 2:41. Don’t rush to be big. Grow big by starting small. A little beginning does not mean you are little; it means you are learning.
To Zerubbabel the LORD said, “For who hath despised the day of small things?” Zechariah 4:10 KJV. There may be mountains, but God strengthens those with small beginnings. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 KJV.
Your little beginning keeps you humble and allows God to work through you.
God bless you and Good Morning.
