TOPIC: INGREDIENTS OF FAITH: Act On Your Word : (7)
One Year Bible Reading:
2 Chronicles 5 - 7
Acts 2: 1 - 21
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
BIBLE READING:
James 2:17-18
“17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
Thinking Point:
Faith without steps is just talk. Action proves your belief is real.
The Holy Spirit is enabling us today to do all things right in a way that will glorify God, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
I welcome you to the continuation of our study, “Ingredients of Faith”. We now proceed to the fourth ingredient, which is “Taking Action” — the most important aspect of faith. Our actions are proof that we are expecting change in our lives.
Many speak what they believe but never act on it, which makes it remain a word and not faith. Faith doesn’t wait till things change. We work it out by acting.
Abraham didn’t get a map from God. He got a command: “Go”. No address. He left his father’s house, business, and comfort with only a promise. He chose obedience over details. The “not knowing where” didn’t stop him because he knew WHO called him, Genesis 12:1-6.
When you believe and speak, the next step is to act in that direction without delay. Faith doesn’t wait for perfect conditions or complete information. It walks in imperfect obedience. Your action today is the bridge to God’s miracle tomorrow. He said,
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17
The proof of faith is working toward what you believe and speak. The difference between faith and pride is action. Pride speaks boldly: “I will become this. I will achieve that,” but action is lacking. Faith is proved by action — acting in the direction of what we speak.
“I won’t be jobless,” then you begin to do something you can do, not just wait for the job you applied for. “I will not remain single and I will be married,” then you begin to check your attitude and behavior that can stand against you getting the right person. Nothing works without working toward it. Faith says “go” when the road is not clear. Believing takes the step without delay. Faith is evident by acting, not by waiting until things get better.
To put God to work, you need to take the step first before God steps into your matter. Stop speaking what you believe. Start acting accordingly and you will see God in action.
The ingredients of faith are: Hear God’s word, Believe it, Speak it to situations around your life, and Act upon the word.
Prayers:
Father, thank You for Your words and promises. Thank You for giving me the grace to believe them. I speak them to the situations around my life by faith. Lord Jesus, help me to act upon them with faith. Give me the grace to take steps to bring them to reality, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
