TOPIC: INGREDIENTS OF FAITH: Believing (5)
One Year Bible Reading:
1 Chronicles 25 - 29
John 21:1 - 25
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
BIBLE READING:
John 1:12
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Thinking Point:
Until you believe what you’ve heard, it will never produce a result.
This week will be productive, healthy, and peaceful for us. No matter what happens around us and across the nation, we are exempted in Jesus’ name. Our faith will make us whole in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Yesterday, we discussed the first ingredient of faith, which is Hearing — hearing God’s word. Today we move on to the second ingredient of faith, which is BELIEVING. What you believe is what brings changes into your life.
When we hear messages, a choice is presented to us. And we said yesterday that hearing is a choice; likewise, receiving or believing the message is a choice. Not everyone who heard the message received it. The Scripture says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
There is power that comes with believing, and that’s the power of change. When people get information and receive it with their whole heart — that means believing it — the power for change is released. When we receive the message about Christ, we receive the power to become sons and daughters of God, God’s representatives. Believing is the key here.
Prophet Isaiah said,
“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” Isaiah 53:1
Whenever you believe a message, report, advice, or sermon, there is the backing of God — which is His arm — to perform what you believe. What you don’t believe will never transform your life. What you don’t believe will leave your life. Faith works with believing, not just hearing. Hearing alone doesn’t save; it is believing that proves readiness. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness.” Romans 10:10. Demons hear but don’t believe. You must take what you hear and agree with it in your heart. God said, “I know the plans I have for you.” Jeremiah 29:11. Believing is saying “Amen” on the inside.
Many remain in bed not because there’s no power to heal, but because they don’t believe in healing. If we can believe the word of God, not just be hearers, we will become new people. Let me put it this way: Hearing is the entrance of God’s word; believing is what gives light. What you accept will never leave your life, but it will change it. You can only grow when you hear His word and believe it before the result. Faith can’t grow and work without believing. Jesus said, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?” John 11:40. Believing is what attracts results. Join believing in the hearing of God’s word.
Prayers:
Father, in the name of Jesus, help me believe Your word in order to walk in faith. It is believing that makes the difference between those who hear and those who grow in faith. Help me study/hear Your word and believe it in order to create the changes I desire in me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
