TOPIC: Faith On The Road: Avoid Doubters (7)

One Year Bible Reading:
Ezra 9 - 10
Acts 11 : 1- 18

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

BIBLE READING:
Luke 8:51-53
“And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.”

Thinking Point:
Look away from sympathizers and doubters — you’ve come too far to give up.

This morning, every crooked path before us shall be made straight, valleys before us shall work in our favour, mountains shall preserve us from evil, and what is meant for evil shall begin to work for our good in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Faith On The Road
The man Jairus succeeded after all hurdles to bring Jesus home. He got home and met mourners and wailers who could do nothing but sympathize over the death of his daughter. They crowded everywhere, increasing their wailing when Jesus and His disciples stepped in to make it known that his daughter was gone forever. Beloved, nobody knew where you started. Not all knew what you went through. But at the brink of your miracle they tend to discourage your effort, even when you are at the breakthrough of your miracle. Beware of doubt and remember what you have put in.

Jairus would have been more confused and distracted, but thinking of Jesus following him all the way, remembering the woman’s healing, and remembering the last word of Jesus saying, “Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole,” he was strengthened to overcome the mourners as he saw Jesus standing with him in his house. Luke 8:50 KJV.

You may be in that season right now, when those you believe in become your doubters, your discouragers and promise not to go with you anymore. Remember where you started from. Think of the hurdles you have crossed. Remember those secret sacrifices you’ve made to be where you are and keep believing, “I can make it,” “I will not quit at this junction.” They may not be doing it intentionally; they are only moved by what they saw, what they heard. But you are moved by what you believe. Finish what you have started by doubting your doubters, discouraging your discouragers, by looking up to Jesus who is ahead of you.

When Jesus saw the atmosphere, He called Jairus and his wife to join His miracle train. Don’t let anything men say control your emotions. Take the last step and win the race.

God bless you and good morning.
