TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4: Summary (10)

2 Kings 4:7
"7. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest”.
Thinking Point:
Identify your jar of oil, develop it and market it to set you free.
Everything that looks worthless in your life is taking a new shape of honour in Jesus' mighty name. No matter the issue before you, God is taking over from you in Jesus' wonderful name, Amen.
Today, as I round up this study, I want to summarize in three paragraphs what this study should do for you.
Go to God
We all have an untapped potential that we need to recognise. Everyone that is great today discovered something that turns their lives around. God has potential in and around us for our discovery but we look away from them to access what is not discern for us. The Prophet's widow had a jar of oil with her all along and the debtor kept troubling her. She was unable to locate her potential like many of us today. But when her situation became tense she ran to Prophet Elisha. Today, many of us need to run to God for clarity of our - Jar Of Oil - potential. Most times we run to people who can't help us and end up with failed promises.
Hebrews 12:2, says,
“2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;...”
Looking up to Jesus, that's what the widow did. If she hadn't done that she would have finished up that jar of oil and still remain in her situation till her children would be taken away as collateral. But she ran to God's representative, Prophet Elisha who opened her eyes to see the potential under her care. Go to God for discovery of potential.
Developed Your Discovery
She never looked down on the information given to her but went home and worked on the potential, how? By doing business with it. She began to increase the oil, develop the oil from one jar of oil to one gallon, two gallons, three gallons and so on. Her meeting with God's servant opened her eyes to what she never saw before and she developed it. You are here this morning with the discovery of God's deposits in your life, start Developing what He shows you. Start working with those tools, that skills, that field till someone will come for it.
Take It To The Market
When God shows you your potential, after developing it, take it to the market place for a transaction, let people know you can solve their problem. Any endeavor that won't solve others' problems can't solve your problem either. Trade with what you have, that potential.
In summary: Go to God to reveal your potential. Develop that potential. Start solving problems with the potentials and you will be free from being a backliner for life.
