BIBLE READING:

Thinking Point:
Faith: The Link Between Man and God, The Door to Accessing God

It’s another new week, another fresh grace, new mercy, and new direction from the faithful God. We ascribe all the glory to the Most High God.

Faith has been our focus for some days, and I believe the Lord has revealed Himself to us through these topics. Today, we are speaking on the importance of faith. Why do we need it? Does it really matter? Yes. Faith is one of the most important instruments to enjoy our walk with God. Faith is that key to the heart of God. It is the connection between man and God. It’s proof that we believe and depend on God alone.

Our text says, “Without faith no one can please God.” To please God, faith is the only key. Let me put it this way: Faith is the reason for living a holy life. It’s the reason for avoiding evil. It’s the reason for doing God’s will. If you find it difficult to do His will, your faith is inactive. It is the propeller that forces us to do what He says.

The Bible speaks repeatedly about faith and the just, saying:
“NOW THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH…” Hebrews 10:38
“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: BUT THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY HIS FAITH.” Habakkuk 2:4
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Romans 1:17
“But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Galatians 3:11

Even the just, who walk repeatedly in righteousness, must live by faith because without this faith no one can please the Lord. Faith in God is not an alternative, but the most important tool to please the Lord.

Until Abraham walked in faith, he was not able to please the Lord. He held unto Ishmael as the promise of God. He refused to have another expectation of Isaac, to the point that he told God, “And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!” Genesis 17:18. But when he walked in faith, he went in with his wife, Sarah, in order to please God and the promise was fulfilled. Faith is doing what He says even when it doesn’t make sense. To obey Him is to please Him, for the just shall live by faith because without faith no one can please Him.

Are you pleasing God? Do you do as He says, or do you turn the other way round? When you believe in His word and act on it, then you can enjoy the reward He releases. Faith determines our reward. As we appear before Him this morning, let’s go with the mind of faith to please Him, to do as He will say, and see the reward following us. For the just must live by faith.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
