Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry© Mobile Daily Devotional Week 31, Day 2, Monday, 27th July 2026 TOPIC: THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: Meekness (8)

TOPIC: THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: Meekness (8)

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 38 - 41
Romans 2

MEMORY VERSE:
Galatians 5:22-23.
_”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”_ KJV

BIBLE READING:
Numbers 12:3
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

Thinking Point:
Meekness, also known as Humility, attracts God into the life of the carrier.

This week, we will end it so well that our testimonies will draw men to God. The Holy Spirit will propel us into destiny fulfillment, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

We have been digging deep on the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We have looked into Joy, Love, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, and today, we will continue with Meekness, which is known as Humility.

Meekness/Humility is seeing everyone as equal without segregation. Treating everyone as God treats us. Meekness combines gentleness. Meekness is power under God’s control. It also means teachability. Meekness is not weakness. It’s power that has been surrendered to God. Like a wild horse that has been trained. All the strength is still there, but now it’s directed. Meekness is the Spirit of God teaching us to yield our strength, rights, and reactions to Him. `Matthew 5:5` says,
_“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”_

Meekness can be seen in the way we relate with God. It says, _“Not my will, but Yours.”_ It’s teachable and quick to obey.
`Psalm 25:9`
_“The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way.”_

Meekness doesn’t retaliate or force its way against others. No. It listens first, speaks softly, forgives and chooses peace with all men. James 1:21.

We need Meekness in conflict, in leadership and in success. Meekness is seeing your achievements as God's grace and tools to help others. Not looking down on others.
Jesus said, _“I am gentle and lowly in heart”_ Matthew 11:29. Being the Son of God He remained meek to all. Moses never saw himself better than others so God called him the meekest of all, Numbers 12:3. David had power to kill Saul in the cave, but said, _“The Lord forbid that I should touch the Lord’s anointed”_ 1 Samuel 24:6. That’s meekness. Without Meekness, gentleness becomes fake and strength becomes destructive. Pride is the opposite of Meekness.

How do we develop Meekness?
1. Daily surrendering to the Holy Spirit. By allowing the Holy Spirit to take control of my strength and my mouth every moment.
2. Pause and think before reacting or speaking. Be quick to listen, slow to speak. James 1:19.
3. Receive correction: A meek heart says “Teach me” instead of “Defend me.” Psalm 25:4-5.
4. Serve in hidden places: Meekness is built where no one is watching.
5. Fix your eyes on Jesus: The more you behold Him, the more you become like Him. Matthew 11:28.

PRAYER:
Father, Clothe me with the Spirit of Meekness. Break pride in me and teach me to yield to You. Let my strength be under Your control. Teach me to be humble in victory and steady in trials. Help me to be bold for truth, but tender with people. Make me like Jesus - gentle and lowly in heart, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

See you tomorrow for the next character of the Holy Spirit.

God bless you and Good Morning.
