TOPIC: THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: Peace (3)

_”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”_ KJV
BIBLE READING:
Philippians 4:6-7.
_”Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”_
Thinking Point:
PEACE: The Fruit of the Spirit that brings calmness in every situation.
As we step out today, may the LORD hear us in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend us;
Send us help from the sanctuary, and strengthen us out of Zion;
Remember all our offerings, and accept our sacrifice;
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
_“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”_ John 14:27 KJV
Peace is calmness in the middle of confusion.
It is a governing character that rules our heart and controls the situations happening around us from within.
Peace is the ability to stay focused regardless of the circumstances around us. It is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God in the trouble.
Peace is the third fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit releases this character into our hearts gradually as we listen to Him and walk with Him.
Apostle Paul gave us insight into how to develop this peace of mind in Philippians:
_“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”_ Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
The Holy Spirit gives us the peace of God. A peace that guards our heart and thoughts. A peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.
You will not be troubled, because the Spirit within you is greater than any storm around you. _“Greater is He that is in you...”_ 1 John 4:4
When the fruit of peace is growing, your spirit announces that God is with you — even in the storm.
Prayer:
Father, release the peace of the Holy Spirit over my heart today. Peace that surpasses understanding. Let it guard my thoughts and keep me steady. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
