TOPIC: VISION AND PROVISION: Divine Encounter (4)
One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 113 - 116
1 Corinthians 5
MEMORY VERSE:
Habakkuk 2:2.
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
BIBLE READING:
Acts 9:2-5
“He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains.
As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him.
He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”
“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!”
Thinking Point:
Vision Can Be Received Through Divine Encounter.
The Lord shall make our path pleasant and favourable today. We will experience an encounter that will bring the manifestation of His Glory into our lives, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
We have seen different ways God communicates vision to a believer. God chooses the way that best suits each individual in order to get our attention.
Another means of receiving God’s Vision we are studying today is Divine Encounter. It is similar to Moses’ encounter, but different in the sense that it is like the arrest of Saul, who later became Apostle Paul. When someone becomes an enemy of the Gospel, God can forcefully arrest them and give them a vision they cannot reject.
Divine Encounter involves God meeting a person directly — with no doubt or confusion.
Jesus arrested Saul on his way to persecute believers. Saul was so determined to destroy the _“People of The Way”_ that he was doing it with the backing of the authorities.
But through a divine encounter with the Lord, Saul received a new vision and clear directives on what to do and how to go about it. Acts 9:1-6.
A divine encounter is when God meets a man directly, or through an angel, in a way that cannot be resisted. This kind of encounter is often for those who have become a thorn in the flesh of the Gospel.
What is common in all these God-given visions is this. There is a calling and an assignment to carry out. There are souls to reach and souls to help in fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives. The vision of God for you is the purpose for your life.
Have you discovered the vision of God for your life? Do you need to think about how God has been reaching out to you for some time without you yielding? It’s time to respond to His calling. It’s time to take action and start fulfilling the vision He’s been calling you to.
You were designed for a purpose, and until this purpose is fulfilled, our homes, churches, and lives cannot be all that God wants them to be. Identify God’s calling upon your life and start fulfilling it.
God bless you and Good Morning.
