TOPIC: VISION AND PROVISION: Provision Time Frame (Short Term) (9)

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 128 - 134
1 Corinthians 9

MEMORY VERSE:
Habakkuk 2:2.
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

BIBLE READING:
11 Kings 17:7-9.
"7. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

Thinking Point:
Identifying the type of the present Provision makes you more focused and determined.

It's the beginning of a new week. Wisdom for exploits is ours. Health for profit is released upon us because we are more than conquerors, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Vision and provision for a man is from God. Yesterday we learnt that "Provision is Timely", which means provision can become outdated. We also got to know that one can miss the provision if care is not taken. Missing a rung on a ladder is not easy to recover from because enough strength and composure will be needed for recovery.

There are different timings for provision. Every vision given by God, its provisions are timely. They are as follows:
1. Short Term Provision
2. Long Term Provision
3. Lasting Provision
4. Ministry-Attracted Provision
We shall be studying these one after the other.

Today's Focus is on Short Term Provision.
They are provisions that don’t last for a long time. They walk into your life and before you know it they are gone.

A good illustration is what we studied yesterday. Elijah being fed by the ravens at the brook. It was a short term provision.
“And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening...”
“And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.” 1 Kings 17:6-7

This may be ‘men provision’ or ‘material provision’. When you start out with your vision, there are people that stand by you, encourage, motivate, and support you financially or materially. They stood by you for that moment and after a while, they moved on. Then you begin to think, “What happened between me and them?”

Some ministry or company kicks off and starts manifesting, then things begin to go down because some members or staff left. Some support or help begins to withdraw — not because you mishandled or mismanaged them, but because many of them are short term provisions which we needed to have utilized rightly.

Short term provisions make way for other provisions. They are provisions that sustain you till another provision arrives.
They are temporary provisions.
Despite that, many misuse them with pride or with a nonchalant attitude and miss their short term provisions.
They have an expiry date. The brook will dry. The ravens will stop coming.

That provision you have now — utilize it well. You can’t tell if it is a short term provision. That brook may dry soon. Profit from it now because it might be a short term provision and you may regret it if it is not well utilized.
They come, contribute their quota and move on to the next person's vision. That’s why you have many who were available for your vision at the start, but most of them aren’t there when the vision becomes bigger.

Identify short term provisions and treat them well. Maximize them while they last.

God bless you and Good Morning.
