TOPIC: CAN GOD TRUST YOU? (9) With Your Marriage (Husband)?

Thinking Point:
As a Man, your marriage is a trust from God, not just a relationship.

“Can God Trust You?” still on our topic and today focus is our marriage as Husband. God first introduced marriage in Eden and called it “very good.” Genesis 1:31.
Marriage was God’s idea. It is a covenant, not a contract. It is a sacred trust given by God to a man and a woman to reflect Christ and the Church. There are very important lessons I would like us to learn and inculcate in today's series.
ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN. GENESIS 2:24.
God established marriage to be a One Man and One Woman institute, not One Man and Two Women. Not a Two men and One woman institute, marriage is between a man and a woman. It is against God and Marriage institute to have more than one wife or one husband.
ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN LIVING WITH FORGIVENESS. GENESIS 3.
When Eve ate the fruit in disobedience, and God discovered, He never replaced Eve with another woman for Adam, No, He thought them forgiveness, they must still leave together as one in forgiveness, in love and in correction.
But today, many have failed God's trust test in marriage. We treat marriage like a trial, give up when it gets hard and seek help outside instead of running to God first. God is watching our heart, our words, and our loyalty.
As a husband, can God trust you with other women by loving, cherishing, and caring for only your wife? Can He trust you to be a covering and not a curse to your home?
Ephesians 5:25, says,
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”
A husband is called to lead with sacrifice.
You are not just a provider. You are a priest, a protector, and a leader with a helper beside you. Not a dictator or a ruler but a leader.
Can God introduces you as “Faithful Husband?” Is your home making God proud or making the enemy clap?
Marriage is the first institution God established. If the devil can destroy your marriage, he as destroy your destiny, your ministry, and your legacy.
Apostle Paul admonishes Timothy on what a husband before the Lord should look like in 1 Timothy 3. I do like all men to go through this chapter not just for elders and deacon alone but for all men.
God cannot trust you with greater kingdom treasures if He cannot trust you with the covenant in your home. Your spouse is your first ministry. Your children are your first congregation. Remember, what God has joined together, let no man separate. Mark 10:9
PRAYER:
Father, give me grace to honor my marriage covenant as a Man, Husband, father and representative of You. Teach me to love like Christ. Let my marriage bring You glory and let it be a good thing that attracts Your favor in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
