Isaiah 13 - 14
Ephesians 1:15 - 2: 1 - 10
MEMORY VERSE:
John 1:1.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
BIBLE READING:
Psalm 19:8 KJV
"..., THE COMMANDMENT OF THE LORD IS PURE, ENLIGHTENING THE EYES."
Thinking Point:
You don't need to argue with darkness; you only need to turn on the light.
The light of God is shining over every darkness around our lives. His way will be reveal in the mist of confusion, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
We have seen God's word as the Law, the Testimony and the Statutes, moving on.
The fourth name giving to the Word of God by David is The Commandment. The Hebrew word is Mitzvah, which means a direct order, a clear instruction, a divine mandate.
While statutes are general guidelines, commandments are specific, direct orders from the Commander-in-Chief. They are not negotiable. When a general gives a commandment, soldiers don't debate it; they obey it. Our God is a Commander, Exodus 15:3 — "The LORD is a man of war."
And David gives us two revelations about it: it is pure, and it enlightens the eyes.
1. It is PURE: That means no mixture, no hidden agenda, no contamination, no error. Psalm 12:6, "The words of the LORD are pure words: …."
Pure gold has no alloy. God's commandment has no selfish motive. When God says, "Thou shalt not," it is not because He wants to punish you; but He wants to preserve you. When He says, "Thou shalt," it is because He wants to promote you. His commandments are pure in motive and pure in outcome.
2. It ENLIGHTENS THE EYES: Have you ever been in a dark room and someone turned on the light? Instantly, confusion ends. You see the chair, the door, the snake. That is what a commandment does.
When you are confused, blinded by emotions, pressured by people, or deceived by the enemy, one clear commandment from the Word brings light. Psalm 119:130 says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light."
The commandment doesn't argue with darkness. It simply shines, and darkness must go. Darkness never says, "Let us negotiate." Light just appears and darkness disappears. That is why we must stay in the Word — because our eyes need constant enlightenment.
Many believers are living in spiritual blindness — making wrong decisions in marriage, business, and ministry — because they are not in the commandment. The eye that is enlightened sees what others cannot see. Elisha's servant saw only the enemy's army until Elisha prayed, "Lord, open his eyes," 2 Kings 6:17. The commandment is that prayer answered.
Your problem is not lack of money; it is lack of light. Your problem is not attack; it is lack of sight. One commandment — "Be still," "Forgive," "Give," "Go," "Pray" — can enlighten your eyes and change your life.
"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; …" Ephesians 1:18
What area of your life feels dark right now? Is it your future, your marriage, your health, your finances? Don't complain about the darkness. Turn on the light.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to bring you one commandment concerning that dark area. Open your Bible. Write it down. Meditate on it. Speak it. Let it light your next step. Psalm 119:105.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your pure commandment. No mixture, no deceit, only love. Let Your pure commandment enlighten my eyes. Shine Your light on my path and give me clarity for the next step. Let me see as You see, in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
God bless you and Good Morning.
