TOPIC: CAN GOD TRUST YOU? (12) With Ministry?
One Year Bible Reading:
Songs Of Solomon 3 - 5
Galatians 3: 1 - 14
MEMORY VERSE:
Luke 16:10
"He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much."
BIBLE READING:
1 Corinthians 4:2
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
Thinking Point:
Ministry is not a stage or a field to dabble into; it is a sacred trust from God.
The hand of the Lord shall rest upon us to do exploits. We will do valiant things by His name today, in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
Can God trust you with Ministry? That is our topic for today. But first, what is Ministry?
It is not title, not collar, not pulpit. Ministry is serving God by serving men. Better put, Ministry is using what God gave you to meet the needs of men, to the glory of God.
There are 3 Levels of Ministry:
1. Ministry to God – Worship, Prayer, Obedience.
Matthew 4:10
"Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
This is the foundation. If you can't minister to God in secret, you can't minister to men in public. Ministry to God is seeking God for yourself, your walk with God when no one is there. Personal relationship with God is the first ministry of everyone.
2. Ministry to Men – Soul winning, Teaching, Helping, Burden lifting.
Mark 10:45
"The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister..."
Jesus defined ministry as putting a smile on people's faces. Your contribution to the lives of others from the content of the Bible and from other areas of life is ministry. It involves lifting burdens off others. Jesus came to minister to all forms of sickness and bondage. You are called into ministry through your work, profession, skills – as a teacher, pastor and many more.
3. Ministry to Yourself – Growth, Stewardship of your gift.
1 Timothy 4:14-15
"Neglect not the gift that is in thee..."
You must build yourself first. You can't give what you don't have. Ministering to others does not mean forgetting your own growth and faithfulness to your gift.
In one sentence, every work that makes God known and makes men better is MINISTRY — whether in church, market or office.
God does not give anointing to performers. He gives it to servants.
"I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him." Psalms 89:20
"Hast thou considered my servant Job?" Job 1:8. God called him servant first.
You can't be a minister without being a faithful servant before God. God gives you a ministry when He finds you trustworthy. King Saul was trusted with kingship but he failed the trust and was replaced with David.
As a minister, can God trust you with young ladies and women? Can God trust you with offerings, platforms, and without pride?
"Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride..." 1 Timothy 3:6
Before God gives you multitudes, He will test you with a few. Pass the test of faithfulness in small things and God will give you a multitude to shepherd. David served faithfully in the ministry committed to him and God found him worthy of ministering to the twelve tribes of Israel as a king.
PRAYER:
Father, purge my motives. Help me to serve You in purity and faithfulness in Jesus' Name, Amen.
God bless you and Good Morning.
