TOPIC: WEARINESS (11): Cause Of Weariness: Spiritual Dryness / Lack Of God's Presence

One Year Bible Reading:
Isaiah 59 - 60
1 Thess. 4: 1 - 18

MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

BIBLE READING:
Psalms 42:1-5.
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holy day.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”

Thinking Point:
When you lose His face, you lose strength. When you lose Him, you lose everything.

This morning, every dryness in your spirit is over. The Lord is pouring fresh oil upon you and renewing your strength in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Weariness may have taken the better part of you and you keep wondering. Maybe none of the mentioned causes is yours, then the cause of yours may be Spiritual Dryness: Lack of God's Presence.

Strength is renewed in His presence. When you lose His presence, you lose strength. When God's presence is no longer your desire, when you have no time to have a relationship with Him, then weariness will be the order of the day.

David cried in Psalm 42:1-2,
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God."

That is the cry of a dry soul. That is a sign that you are no longer comfortable with the lack of His presence. You become dry when prayer becomes a duty, when the Word is no longer sweet, when worship becomes noise. You do activities but you don't feel God. That dryness leads to weariness.

David went on to say,
"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance." Psalm 42:5

David was weary and downcast; he was eager for the peace of God and His leading, but he couldn't find it. So he turned to God, saying,
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

This may be your cry this morning. Yes, you still go to church services, you pray and worship, but still the presence of God is absent, which you know. Cry to Him, saying,
"Father, I long for You, I need Your presence."

What causes dryness? Prayerlessness, sin, offence, and neglecting the secret place. You cannot survive on yesterday's anointing. You need fresh encounters daily. The secret place is your strength station. Without it, you will run down.

Return to the secret place. Open your Bible again, not to preach, but to feed. Sing again, not to perform, but to worship. Go on your knees, not to greet, but to pray. Seek intimacy, not just needs, and your life will be devoid of weariness. Strength will come and you will be on your feet again.

Prayer:
Father, forgive me for neglecting Your presence. Today, I return to the secret place. Fill me afresh and renew my strength like the eagle's in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Good morning and God bless you.
