Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 42, Day 3 Tuesday, 15th October 2024 TOPIC: LET US PRAY: Consequences of My Decision (3)
TOPIC: LET US PRAY: Consequences of My Decision (3)
MEMORY VERSE:
1 Thessalonians 5:17.
Pray without ceasing.
BIBLE READING:
Genesis 4:11-12
"11. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;"
"12. When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth."
Thinking Point:
Every action has consequences but the mercy of God can deliver one from it.
A pleasant day for you all In Jesus name. Our God is a merciful God. He forgives and pardons us of our sins and shortcomings but not without consequences. He pays back whatever we sow but he shows Mercy when we call on Him.
Cain was punished for killing his brother, Abel. He was the first murderer. He paid for his act. Did you notice he had the opportunity to speak with God directly? But he never asked for mercy, he was claiming right, he even proved that his punishment was too much. Poor Cain, he would have sought for mercy and plead for forgiveness.
When it was David's turn, God did profound three punishments for him to choose from in 2 Samuel 24. He chose one of them and God carried out His punishment. But David cried out to God in verse 17,
2 Samuel 24:17
"17. And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house."
David had to cry for God's mercy and God answered him and stopped the killing.
Brethren, we need to always ask for God's mercy when faced with the consequences of our mistakes. God is not that wicked, all He needs is for us to pray and seek His face even when He is angry with us. Ananias and Sapphire would have asked for God's mercy no matter how short the time was and God would have shown them mercy, we should not tread the same path with those who made this big mistake. We should have the confidence to go to God and ask for mercy over our shortcoming consequences. This morning I want us to pray and say to God,
Father, show me mercy over the consequences of my mistake, let your mercy put an end to the consequences of my past disobedience in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good day and God Bless you.
