Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 1, Sunday, 17th November 2024 TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Thanksgiving, A Proof Of Faith (8)

TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Thanksgiving, A Proof Of Faith (8)

MEMORY VERSE:
John 6:6.
"6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:11.
"11. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would."

Thinking Point:
Giving Of Thanks is Faith-ing what God can do, not only what He has done.

Being an ingrate is described as when one chooses to complain instead of giving thanks to God for what we believe He can do though he has not. To give thanks is not restricted to a certain period or season in a believer's life, it's meant to be every moment as long as we live. One of the reasons we lack and suffer most is lack of thanking God. The Israelites' complaints brought destruction in the wilderness, their lack of appreciation stopped them from entering the promised land, likewise, many believers who go through circumstances today because it's been very hard for them to see reasons to be grateful to God. You don't thank God because things are working, we thank God by faith because He deserves our thanks.

Jesus, the son of God, I mean, God Himself, gave thanks before sharing the loaves of bread and two fishes. I made a statement last week that, God is a God of addition, but it all depends on how we see Him. Jesus knew that five loaves of bread and two fishes was too much to feed more than five thousand people but yet, He gave thanks before distributing it. Thanksgiving multiplied the bread and fishes. I just kept imagining how the disciples were watching the Miracle and testifying of it after that day. Beloved, if Jesus gave thanks for little bread and fishes, why won't you give thanks for that last meal of yours? Why can't you praise Him for that littleness you are experiencing? Nothing bad in saying "Thank You Jesus" in every situation during your day. As you are reading through this devotional right now, I want you to repeat the word, "Thank You Jesus" countless times. Thank Him for what's not enough. Thank Him for what is not available. Thank Him for the Healing you are expecting, and don't forget to Thank Him for all He has done in time past. Saying "Thank you Jesus" doesn't cost you anything compared to complaining and grumbling.
Thank you Jesus for this word today.🙏🏼
