Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 48, Day 2, Monday, 25th November 2024 TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: He Was A Sacrificial Man (2)
TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: He Was A Sacrificial Man (2)
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Samuel 12:24
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.
BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 3:3-4
"3. And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. 4. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar."
Thinking Point:
Being sacrificial is a character not only a product of Love. Many can love and still be stingy. Be sacrificial.
As we go through the last week of November, the purpose of God will be established in and around our lives, we are ending this year with celebration in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Solomon loved the Lord, that was our discovery yesterday. Today, we focus on His sacrificial life. Solomon is a giver. He loves to give, rather than to withhold. He gives to God anytime he feels like and pays all his labourers when due even as a king. When your giving has no limit, your height in God has no limitations. I heard a testimony of our Father in Lord, Daddy E. A. Adeboye, who told God, "he is satisfied with God's blessings upon his life and God should stop releasing more blessings". And God asked him, "Are you ready to stop blessing others?" His response was "no, I can't stop blessing people because I have more than enough", and God said, "then I can't stop blessing you either". When you choose to be sacrificial it's a habit that makes God open doors of blessings to you.
Solomon never saw his father, David, give to God the way he did. Yes, his father did give to God but there are always reasons for him to give and not to that measure that Solomon did. He gave thousands in a day's sacrifice. When He was building the temple, he gave sacrificially for the building and when the temple was completed, he gave to all that were present at the dedication, thousands of people, Oh! You said He has enough that was why he could give? No, many have more than enough but can't give a dim of it to God or men because they lack the habit of giving. Many will rather waste what to be sown as a seed than to be a blessing to people who need it like Abigail's husband,
Nabal, who chose to be sacrificial but neglected the right people to give to. Solomon's sacrificial life caused those who were lesser than Him to bless him like the Queen of Sheba. How sacrificial are you? Have you Seen every great man on earth, both in the past and present, they are givers. Solomon was a man with a sacrificial heart and God loved him more than any other king.
