TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: Solomon Was A Wise Man (4) 

MEMORY VERSE: 
2 Samuel 12:24
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.

BIBLE READING: 
1 Kings 2:9.
"9. Now therefore hold him not guiltless: FOR THOU ART A WISE MAN, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.

Thinking Point:
Wisdom is paramount to greatness and success in a level. No matter the qualities we possess, Wisdom is still very much needed.

May the favour of God go ahead of us today and bring us in contact with the right helpers in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

King Solomon was a man filled with good qualities ever before he met the Lord. He loved the Lord, was a sacrificial person and knew how to please the Lord rightly. He is also a wise son. David His father said this while handing over to him. He said, "For thou art a Wise man" his wisdom was known to His father from childhood. He related in wisdom and God was pleased to have him as the next king after David.

In the world today, we have different wisdom. Cheating others or denying people what belongs to them has been seen as wisdom. Requesting a bribe before carrying out your duty is not wisdom. Depriving your spouse of their right is not wisdom, absentee from office is termed wisdom, all of these and many more aren't the wisdom from God and that is why we gather and still have nothing. The wisdom of God first is pure, selfless and glorifies God. The wisdom Solomon possesses was the wisdom of God, not of men. He was found different from all of David's sons and that also signed him out for kingship. When we possess the wisdom of God, we can't be bidding for good things. Daniel was ten times better than his equal, it was wisdom. Joseph was gotten out of the prison to interpret dreams, then rose to the second in command, it was wisdom. Your wisdom determines your placement in life. Apostle James said, 
"5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." - James 1:5 

Wisdom should be our daily request from God. Despite Solomon having wisdom even before his sacrifice, he still made a request for more wisdom.and understanding, because he knew what wisdom will do for him as a king. That was why he said, in Proverbs 4:7, "Wisdom Is The Principal Thing; Therefore Get Wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding."

Brethren, wisdom is the principal thing to rise to the peak in life, let's ask for God's wisdom.
