TOPIC: IN THE BEGINNING: SERIES 2: The Dust And The Instruction (20)

ONE YEAR BIBLE READING
Genesis 49 - 50
Matthew 14: 13 - 36

MEMORY VERSE:
Gen. 1:1
"1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

BIBLE READING:
Gen. 2:16-17
"16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”"

Thinking Point:
We, the Dust and carrier of God's breath, need to abide by the instructions of our breath giver. His instructions are our sustenance.

Every manufacturer has an instruction book called "Manual" for every product. This manual is a guideline for the product purchased by the consumer or client. Any disobedience to the instruction book can affect the warranty of the product. This is the same with our God and the dust He created. He gave the first dust, Adam, the needed instructions for his sustenance in the garden, very simple and direct, "eat this ... but don't touch this" but He couldn't obey the instruction.

What about you, how diligent are you with the Lord's instructions? Haven't you termed God's instructions as 'old school'? How faithful are you to God's daily leading? What He called abomination, is that not your favourite life style now? "for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Are we not dying silently with our disobedience? When our path differs from the manual of God, we deny ourselves the blessings made available for us ahead of time. Although our God is merciful and compassionate, He is slow to anger, that's why we are still alive. Turn back to His instructions and obey them diligently, and you will be glad you did. What He called sin should remain sin and be avoided.
