TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Pay Your Vows (16)

One Year Bible Reading:
Judges 3 - 4, Luke 12 :14 - 36.

MEMORY VERSE:
Heb. 13:8
"8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

BIBLE READING:
1 Sam. 1:24-25
24 Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh. And the child was young. 25 Then they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli.

Thinking Point:
Redeem your vow when God answered your request. Do as you have promised.

This part is the most important and dangerous part of every vow. God is a faithful God who will always be faithful to His word. When He has proved Himself Faithful, He expects us to also hold faithful to our vows. Many Christians have lost what they got from God through vow because they refuse to pay their bargain. He who gives it can also take it back, because He is the giver and He can retrieve it back.

Hannah proved not to be an ingrate. She came back to God according to her vow. She presented Samuel, the only child at that time, to God as she had vowed. She paid the vow with sacrifices wholeheartedly. She never waited for another child before releasing Samuel. She gave him to God according to her bargain,
"11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head." 1 Samuel 1:11. God did according to her request and she also gave according to her vow.

What vow are you still owing God? When you're about to pay your vows didn't you reduce or change your bargain? Do you even remember you are owing God a vow? It is my prayer that we will not be on the other side of God by not fulfilling our bargain with Him in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Fulfill your vows when God has done His part.
