Thinking Point:
To Know God’s Vision For Your Life Involves Walking With God
As we step out this new week, the light of God shall guide our path, order our steps, and rescue us from being victims of evil, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
We started studying Vision and Provision yesterday, and we established that God is the giver of Vision. We don’t just choose our vision, we follow His leading.
Now the question remains: How do we discover the vision of God for our lives?
Let’s check the manual of God. God reveals our vision to us in diverse ways. Scripture shows us how we can receive our assignment from God.
1. Through God’s Directives
Genesis 12:1-4
Vision can come through God’s audible voice. God can locate us and speak to us in a way we will recognize.
Abraham received his assignment audibly. The vision for Abraham was to leave his father’s house and country and go to a place that God would show him.
One beautiful thing about God’s vision is this: Most of the time, God locates you Himself and sends you on an errand. There’s no record of Abraham praying for an assignment or direction. But when our way pleases the Lord, He locates us and assigns His vision for our lives to us.
The same was true for Noah — Genesis 6:8-9
Noah wasn’t looking for what to do for God, but his uprightness and perfect lifestyle drew God’s attention. He heard God audibly and received the vision to build the ark.
When it’s time for the fulfillment of your vision, God can reach out to you through His audible voice. But He is not limited to an audible voice.
2. Through Circumstances
Exodus 3:1-10
God located Moses and attracted him with the burning bush. When God wants to give you an assignment, He can create circumstances to draw your attention to Himself. When He has your attention, He gives you the assignment. Getting your attention might come through curiosity, needs, or challenges. He uses situations to get our focus.
In the days of Nehemiah — Nehemiah 1-2
God never audibly spoke to Nehemiah to rebuild the wall, but it became a burden in his heart when he heard about the broken walls of Jerusalem. That burden became the vision he ran with, and he rebuilt the wall.
1 Samuel 17:23-33
David didn’t hear God calling him to fight Goliath, but God brought him to the battlefield through circumstances. He saw and heard Goliath defying and reproaching the God of Israel. He stepped out to take away the reproach, and that became the discovery of his vision.
God can lay a burden in your heart to put things in order, to solve a problem, or to change a situation. That burden can become the vision for your lifetime.
So, God can give you a vision through an audible voice or through circumstances.
Let’s continue tomorrow as we discover more ways to receive our vision.
God bless you and Good Morning.
