TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Document Your Vows. (9) One Year Bible Reading:  Joshua 7 - 9, Luke 8: 40 - 56 MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING:  1 Sam. 1:10 -11 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” Thinking Point: Nothing can be forgotten when it's documented. Documentation brings a refreshing memory. Over two days now we have been discussing what it entails to Making Vows. We've talked about (a) Be Specific About Your Vows. (b) Be Personal About Your Vows, today, we will be focusing on Documenting Your Vows. There's a saying that go...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Be Personal About Your Vow. (8) One Year Bible Reading:  Joshua 5 - 6, Luke 8: 1 - 39 MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING:  1 Sam. 1:10 -11 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” Thinking Point: When making a vow, don't attach others to the fulfillment. We discussed "Being Specific About Your Vow" yesterday. Today, let us move ahead. Be personal about fulfillment of your vow. It is very wrong to commit others in your vows. Hannah was lucky that her son, Samuel, was able to accept her mother's costly vo...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Be Specific About Your Vow (7) One Year Bible Reading:  Joshua 3 - 24 Luke 7 8: 1 - 50 MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING:  1 Sam. 1:10 -11 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” Thinking Point: Vows to God and humans should be specific and accurate for God to be attracted. Yesterday, we saw how Hannah did something that was different from other Shiloh programs she's been attending. She made a vow with God and things turned around for her. We will take some days to study about the do's and the don't of vow...

BIBLE READING:  1 Sam. 1:10 -11 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” Thinking Point: When next you go before God, apply a different strategy to attract His attention. We have been studying lessons from Hannah this week and we've seen how Hannah handled her situation. Today our focus is centred on her approach to God. From this story, we were made to know that her family has been going to Shiloh yearly, meaning ...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Turn Mockery To Motivation (5) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 33 - 34, Luke 7: 1 - 35. MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING: 1 Sam. 1:6-10 "6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb. 7 So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. 8 Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” 9 Soñ Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish." Thinking Point: Be motivated by what others says. Mockery should build you up an...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Stop The Mockery (4) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 31 - 32, Luke 6: 17 - 49. MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING: 1 Sam. 1:6-7 "6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb. 7 So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat." Thinking Point: Every mocker never ends well, they always end in shame and end as a loser. Do you belong to the party of mockers? Are you good at making jokes of others' weaknesses or challenges? Maybe gossiping is your hubby? Stop being a mocker. Stop mocking the pain you've never been through. Stop laughing at others, yours might be worse. No one mocked God's people and end it well, be careful. Peninnah was a wife to Elkanah also. She was blessed with children in the same ma...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE; Run To God (3) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 29 - 30, Luke 6: 1 - 16. MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING: 1 Sam. 1:9-10 "9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish." Thinking Point: When things seem odd the best place to turn to is God not men. Hannah knew Elkanah loved her. She did also. She knew he could do anything for her. He has proved it again and again. But she realises that this man also has limitations. There are things he can't do. In our days, in-laws would have sent her packing, tagged her names. Mother in-law would let her know she was the problem, not the man, which was right.  She realises the limitation of her husband and r...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE; Human Has Limitations. (2) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 28, Luke 5: 17 - 39. MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING: 1 Sam. 1:4-8 "4. And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions: 5. But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb. 6. And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb. 7. And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat. 8. Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?” Thinking Point: Men has limitations when it comes to helping you except God intervene, men can't so...

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE; We are not Immune To Challenges. (1) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 25 - 27, Luke 5: 1 - 16. MEMORY VERSE:  Heb. 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." BIBLE READING: 1 Sam. 1: 1-3 "1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim Zophim, of the mountains of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. 2 And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. 3 This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there." Thinking Point: Servicing God is an invitation to opposition and trails. The Lord our God is the same in all situations. He changes not, come what may. He can never change His mind because of our ...

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD'S WORD: By Speaking The Word (7) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 22 - 24, Luke 4: 14 - 44. MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: Job 22:27-30. "27. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. 28. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. 29. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. 30. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands." I'M PLUS ONE TODAY, PLEASE, PRAY FOR ME🙏. Thinking Point: The word of God dwells within but speaking and declaring is what brings the benefits. The last but not the least way of benefiting from the Word of God is by speaking what you believe. By saying what the ...

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD'S WORD: By Preaching The Word (6) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 18 - 21, Luke 4: 1 - 13. MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: Math. 28:19-20 "19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen." Thinking Point: Preaching the Word of God brings benefits to us and God Himself because it expands the kingdom of God. The Word of God is for our benefits and also for the benefit of those who are yet to accept Christ as their Lord and saviour. It's been made known to us how we can benefit from God's Word. All the benefits discussed are to be replicated in the lives of others which is a commandment from ...

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD'S WORD: By Acting The Word (5) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 16 - 17, Luke 3: 1 - 38. MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: James 1:23-25. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;  24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." Thinking Point: If you cannot act on what you believe, you are not sure of what you believe. The word of God we read, studied, meditated and hear can be proven through our action. The word of God is to be acted upon. Acting on the Word of God is a...

Mobile Daily Devotional with Oluboye Emmanuel Week 12, Day 4, Wednesday, 19th March, 2025 TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD'S WORD: By Believing The Word (4)

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD'S WORD: By Believing The Word (4) One Year Bible Reading:  Deuteronomy 13 - 15, Luke 2: 21 - 52. MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: 2 Corinth. 4:13 "13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak." Thinking Point: Reading, studying, meditating and hearing God's word without believing it is a fruitless path. No matter how we read and study the Word of God, no matter how we meditate on it day and night, if we do not believe it we can't benefit from the Word. Believing the Word of God takes you to another level in the race of Christianity and this is why many believers remain just church goers. Until our meditation takes us to the level of believing the word, the benefit will be limited. Mark 9:23, says,  "Je...

MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: Romans 10:17 "17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Thinking Point: The Word of God impacts our faith and moves us forward when we devote our time to it. One of the greatest benefits of the word of God is "Increasing Faith". The word of God nourishes our faith, it helps our faith to grow faster than expected. Reading, studying and meditating on God's word will increase our faith but when we hear the Word of God through Servants of God, who are called to teach and unfold the word of God, our faith increases exceedingly. Apostle Paul understands this well, that was why He said,  "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God....

MEMORY VERSE:  Jere. 23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" BIBLE READING: Joshua 1:8 "8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Thinking Point: Meditation is different from studying. You meditate on what you read by thinking and digesting it. What is Meditation? Meditation simply means to ponder about something, to think deeply, focus to get a point from what you are studying or reading. Meditation is the brain behind successful studying. Many read and studied the Word of God without meditation, so they easily forget what they read and gained nothing from ...

BIBLE READING: Joshua 1:8 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Thinking Point: The word of God isn't just a novel or textbook but a book filled with daily insight and revelation every moment. God's word creates and mends lives. The Word of God is creative and powerful. The word of God answers to all situations. It's the solution to every man's needs. But how does one benefit from God's Word? How can the word of God reach to Me? We benefit from God's word through consistent Reading and Studying. Reading the Bible is the first way to enjoy the product of God's Word. MEMORY VERSE:  Ps. 133:1-3 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!  2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.   3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore. BIBLE READING: Luke 6:38. "38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Thinking Point: Unity can't be complete without giving, meeting one another's needs and easy burdens. The last Ingredients of Unity we will be discussing today is Giving. Stretching out your hands to be a blessing to the members of your team: y...

BIBLE READING: Ephesians 4:15. "15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ" Thinking Point: Speaking truthfully in Love is different from speaking truth harshly. The way you address people determines their response to the revealed truth. The Fifth ingredient to be considered for unity to reign, is Speaking the Truth in Love. Speaking in truth to one another not minding the consequences. When this is o...

BIBLE READING: Ephesians 4:32 "32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Thinking Point: No one can escape being hurt but the only way to get healed is forgiveness. The Third Ingredient of Unity is Forgiveness. God demonstrates this by sending Jesus to take the sins of the world away in order to unite us to Himself. Where unforgiveness reigns, pretence governs such relationships. Unforgiveness tears apar...

BIBLE READING: Ephesians 5:20-21 "20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God." Thinking Point: Submission isn't meant for the married alone but all ramification. Unity involves submission. The Second ingredient of Unity is submission. Anywhere unity reigns therein you'll find submission and respect for one another. Most leaders always make this mistake believing the...

BIBLE READING: Amos 3:3. 3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?   Thinking Point: Unity can't stand or exist without Agreement. Agreement is the foundation to unity. The first Ingredient of Unity is Agreement. You can't claim to be united when agreement is not reached. Agreement is the ability to have a common goal regardless of an individual person's goal. When Agreement is not reached, team or joint success can't be achieved.  To follow Je...

BIBLE READING: Amos 3:3. 3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?   Thinking Point: God created humans and a bond that locks them together called Unity.  Unity is one important virtue that leads to peace amongst men. However, unity has been misunderstood by many and has caused confusion and destruction in relationships. What is Unity? Unity is not the absence of argument, conflict, or differences, but the presence of: - Agreement - Selfles...

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 43:19. "29. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Thinking Point: God saves within the wilderness not outside the wilderness, ours won't be an exemption if we trust in Him. It's been a prayer week indeed for each and everyone of us and we know that heaven has harked to our prayers. We will be glad to hear your testimonies in Jesus’ name, Amen. Today, it's my joy to let you know that God saves from within the wilderness and He will do the same to us in Jesus name, Amen. BIBLE READING: Isaiah 54:17. "17. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." Thinking Point: What people say about us goes farther than what you do, because not everyone is present to see what we do compared to what people say about us. Beloved of God, it's my prayer today that the Lord cancel every negative presentation of us in the presence of our helpers in Jesus' mighty name, Amen. BIBLE READING: Exodus 1:15-17. "15. And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:" "16. And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live." "17.
